What is it about?
During the first step of a penetration testing (reconnaissance, also called recon), the gathering of meta information is a critical step. The tools described in this section enable to collect as much information as possible about a target, using indexed information on the Internet. The output provides the auditor with useful information (path disclosures, usernames, OS fingerprinting, ...) to better target the following steps of the audit.
